Making a latral career move

If you can't move upward in your job; don't be wary of making a lateral move to a new role at your current company; it's not failure or just a change for change’s sake. It can reignite your career and put you back on the path to where you want to go.

Here are three cases where it makes sense to move laterally.  

1. To learn new skills

2. The new company has more opportunities

3. The  new company really wants you  

If you can justify why making a lateral move, then it’s probably smart to take the job. You just need to understand why you’re doing what you’re doing.
