How to land a great job

How to land a great job

When interviewing for your next job, how can you impress your recruiter and increase your chances of securing a job offer?

It's important that you emphasize your ambitions and goals (extrinsic motivation). And, you also need to highlight your love for your work and what you hope to achieve as part of the process of working at the company (intrinsic motivation). Recruiters need to hear about this, and many applicants aren’t taking advantage of that.

Interviewing is a skill, and like any other skill, it can and need to be trained. More experience in interviewing will help you to gauge and predict the power of statements around both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation, and the impression they make.

The takeaway is clear that interviewing for a job should highlight the meaning you derive from your work, and recruiters looking to attract job candidates should emphasize that their employees do work they love.
